Heatley Secondary College was first established as Heatley State High School in 1968. More than fifty years on, the school has not just undergone a name change. Heatley Secondary College has seen the addition of several state-of-the-art facilities including:
- a digital trade training centre - the Townsville Creative Technologies Centre (TCTC)
- a Multi Media Learning Centre with an auditorium, video editing facilities and a blue room for filming
- a multi purpose sports hall and gym
- an aquaponics facility
- new science laboratories
- a cyclone shelter which boasts a second sports hall and a specialised sports laboratory.
The College is a technology-rich environment that is constantly seeking to meet the challenges of all our clientele, both young adolescents and adult learners, through maintaining excellent facilities and industry standard resources.
