Secondary school
Parents or caregivers must be the adults enrolling the student.
Step 1: submit your enrolment paperwork
Students' parents/guardians should first complete the appropriate enrolment package for their child (Year 7 to 10, Year 11 & 12) or visit the College Administration office to collect a package. Once you have completed the forms and collated the additional information requested, return the package to the Administration office or email to enrol@heatleysc.eq.edu.au
Our enrolment staff will process your application and on approval from the Principal, arrange an enrolment interview for you and your student.
Please note only the legal guardian can enrol students at school.
Step 2: the interview
Students must attend the interview with their parent/carer. Enrolment interviews will be conducted by the year level Deputy Principal and may also include other staff from our Wellbeing Team, ie Guidance Officer, CEC, or Deputy Principal of Inclusive Education, if required.
During the interview, the various permissions and expectations will be explained and subject selections discussed.
Senior students (Years 10, 11 and 12) will also need to bring a Student Education and Training Plan (SETP) if one has already been completed. If they do not have a completed SETP, one will be completed at or shortly after the interview.
Step 3: enrolment
All new students will be eligible to start school once the enrolment interview is completed and a timetable processed. This usually takes 24 hours.
For students enrolling in Years 8 and 9 once the school year has begun, they will need to complete the relevant school standardised/diagnostic testing within the week as part of the school induction process.
