Stars Foundation provides a holistic program that supports Indigenous girls and young women to attend and remain engaged at school, complete year 12 and move into work or further study.
The program is based on strong and trusting relationships. The Stars room at Heatley Secondary College aims to provide a culturally safe, warm environment - a place where the girls and young women in our program feel nurtured and inspired.
Our mentors provide a diverse range of activities to support students to develop the self-esteem, confidence and life skills they need to successfully participate in school and transition into a positive and independent future.
Any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander girl enrolled at Heatley Secondary College can apply to be part of the Stars program, where they can enjoy:
- Leadership camps
- Home and away excursions
- Contact time
- Industry connections and employment forums
