We are very Heatley proud to announce that year 11 student Oliver Fitzgerald has been invited to become a member of the Queensland Government Ministerial Student Advisory Council for the Department of Education.
As one of 18 young people selected from across the state who will sit on the Council, Oliver along with other secondary students will have the opportunity to give their perspective and discuss significant issues facing Queensland school students.
In previous years, the Council has advised on topics such as the future of education; mental health and wellbeing; safe and respectful school communities; the 2032 Olympic Games legacy; senior pathways, and changing technologies in schools.
On behalf of Heatley Secondary College, congratulations Oliver and we have no doubt you will be an important voice for your peers and a fantastic representation for our school.
