The house system at Heatley Secondary College plays a crucial role in our Heatley Proud culture. Our three houses - Cleveland, Lavarack and Melton aren't just names of sports houses to which students have been assigned. They are more than what their name represents. To us, they are the foundations of our community, where teamwork, leadership and school spirit come to life!
Throughout the year, our college has three house carnivals:
Swimming carnival in term 1 - This is a day where every student belongs, whether they are competing, cheering, or supporting their house. It's a day where effort, enthusiasm and school pride are celebrated.
Cross country in term 2 - Participation, perseverance and house spirit are on display at the cross country as the students are encouraged to challenge themselves, support one another and just give it their best shot! Walk or run the course is entirely up to the individual!
Athletics carnival in term 3 - A highlight on the school calendar, the athletics carnival is a show of positive sportsmanship across all year levels. A vibrant display of house pride and healthy competition, students get to run, jump and throw for that all important house victory!
